The final concert of the season has the youth band once again teaming up with the Massanutten Brass Band for Springtime in Brass. Part of the Concerts on the Lawn series sponsored by the JMU College of Visual and Performing Arts, the program will feature a variety of music including two stirring contest marches, original concert works and music from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The concert will also boast a father/son first, as the MYBB featured soloist will be MBB music director Kevin Stees performing Song for the Skies by Paul Lovatt-Cooper followed by MBB principal euphonium Ryan Stees performing the traditional Welsh folksong Ar Lan y Môr (Beside the Sea) with the MBB. The concert will conclude with massed bands performing Peter Graham's version of Swedish Folk Song (How Great Thou Art).
